Still waiting for the business rate relief grant.....
Discussion
Hi, are there anyone else still waiting to hear back from the Manchester City Council for their business rate relief grant? My business is eligible and had the letter from the council saying we're qualified for the grant, however despite returning the form right from the start and numerous emails to the relevant department to the council I have heard nothing back. We are in dire need of it but so far there has been no correspondent from the council, there isn't a phone number to the council I could ring too as they took it offline and not responding to my email enquires.

In my experience they are useless, quite remarkable for such a large authority how useless they are. Admittedly it doesn’t help you though.
Your best bet is probably to phone your local councillor, if you live in Manchester the one whose ward you are in, if you don’t the one for the ward the business is based in. Could always call both!

My MP (Greg Smith Cons.) or rather his secretary moved things along very nicely, including getting my new unit rated so that the claim could proceed.
