Atlas takes a government loan.

" The institute promoting the “laissez-faire capitalism” of writer Ayn Rand, who in the novels “Atlas Shrugged” and “The Fountainhead” introduced her philosophy of “objectivism” to millions of readers, was approved for a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan of up to $1 million, according to data released Monday by the Trump administration."
Hmm, taking a state handouts? Seems just a tad hypocritical

They're only living up to the example set by their namesake, who railed against government spending and collective programmes and came up with a whole new 'philosophy' based on the rugged, self-actuating, selfish power of the individual...but still collected her welfare cheques when she needed to towards the end of her life.
Surely if the ARI can't function without support from the cloying dead hand of the dreaded state then The Market Has Spoken and it should be wrapped up?

I dunno if you noticed or not but most western governments have recently enacted various forms of "lockdown" policy that directly prevent many businesses operating how they might otherwise choose to.Hmm, taking a state handouts? Seems just a tad hypocritical

If it's a loan it's not a handout then I don't see the issue, the fact that it's from the government is irrelevant to the principle. Anyway, just because you don't believe in Santa Claus doesn't mean you stick your presents back up the chimney.
It's a load you don't pay back.So if the point of your organisation is to pressure the government in not spending money on anything, you don't think its a tad hypocritical to take a government handout when the going gets tough?

If you campaign against welfare how can you accept it yourself?

There is a very rational argument to say this is merely compensation for state-sponsored loss of business.

If 6 people go for dinner together and 2 vote for pizza but the others want curry so they go there should pizza boys be forced to go hungry?
I think the rand corp people are fruitier than a Jamaican cocktail menu but fairs fair.
