Why? If its a legal business and it meets the criteria for funding, then its fair for it to enter and compete.

Government fund initiatives that may create jobs/bring in taxes. What they do, as long as legal, doesn't matter does it?

Yup, I was worried someone was actually killing kittens.
The government can't say no to funding a perfectly legal business just because they might find it a bit icky.
