I have found a nice Rapide S, too far to go and see it this weekend but I’ve asked for some photos of various bits and pieces.

These are the discs on a 6 year old car that’s done circa 40k:-

Front

Rear

They look lipped to me and a bit of corrosion - do you think they are original? Do you think they need replacing - if so how much?

If you can get a micrometer wrapped around them all the better, if it's at a garage they will be able to do so. You can't see the inner of the disc and that might well be significantly worse, I've had perfect looking outer but poor inners in the past. From the pic they look perfectly normal for corrosion and wear and the the lip doesn't look too bad, the slots are deep and are a good indicator of wear depth, maybe 50% worn at a vague guess? Pads look recent. Originals? Who knows, probably not but if treated with kid gloves on a summer driver then maybe?? But then I like to use brakes properly...

That's about all I can say from my limited experience!

They look fine to me, plenty of pad wear left and only surface corrosion. Almost certainly the original discs at that mileage and nothing wrong with them that I can see.
