Spending old £10 notes

I found about £100 in old tenners in a cash box in the office; I presume some long forgotten petty cash.

I COULD do the 12 mile round trip to queue at the bank to pay them in.

But do any of the supermarkets currently still take cash and will their self service tills accept old tenners?

I don't think my line of thinking is too cheeky. It was actually something suggested to me by HSBC yonks ago when a previous note was withdrawn.

Post office will swap them out if that’s any closer/easier for you.

My post office wouldn’t, said I had to put it in my bank account at my bank

Ended up spending it at boots. Cashier wasn’t fussed
