Calling all TVR Tourers!
Planning a late summer hol this year which will see us touring the length and breadth of Ireland for a fortnight. Route so far is Seacat from Troon to Belfast then working south. We've got stop off's planned in Dublin
, Cork and Tipperary but no real routes figured out as yet so looking for some pointers!
Can anyone recommend some excellent TVR roads we should aim for on our North-South-North expedition. Depart a week on Saturday and I'm getting excited already...sad I know!!!

The North Antrim Coast road taking in Bushmills Distillery, the Giants Causeway, Cushendal, and right round to Larne - is well worthwhile taking on your journey back to Belfast (if you have enough time).
There are not really that many speed cameras in Northern Ireland, but if you are taking the main road from Belfast to Newry on your way to Dublin watch out for the police mobile speed cameras.
It would be much better to have a drive around the Ards Peninsula and get a short ferry ride at Portaferry to Strangford and then go see the Mountain of the Mournes (that sweep down to the sea)via Newcastle, Kilkeel and Rostrevor.
I'll give my brother a shout this evening as he is always raving about some road between Banbridge and Castlewellan thats worth taking a detour for. Or you could take a detour yourself and ask a fellow TVR owner - details at:

Forget the ring of Kerry for fast driving its full of coaches and old gits in corsa hire cars. fab views but NOT a fast driving road.
I did 1000 mile tour of ireland last yr and I dont think any part of it sticks out for ace driving roads. Fab country, V freindly people and brill pubs but I think Scotland & particually the west coast offers better fast driving rds.......

DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY spend a couple of days in Kinsale, just outside Cork City.
Pretty little fishing village renowned as the gourmet capital of Ireland
Great restaurants and top notch hotels/ B&Bs.
Did the same touring thing a couple of years ago, but could have spent a week in Kinsale alone.
