Small, fun, nimble, auto, excellent suspension?

What's your experience of the most comfortable small cars on crappy roads?
I currently have an MK1 Twingo as a city car (not in the UK) and as much as I love almost everything about it, it's still not as comfy over bumpy roads.
It needs to be an auto or automated manual and ideally not bigger than a Clio.
Panda 4x4 looks like it would be good but they're manual only...
Old Jimny doesn't inspire confidence in any spirited driving due to its solid axles handling.
Is 2 door Rav 4 good on bumpy roads?

Do they sell the 1.2 Clio GT Line where you are?
