Summer textile trousers?
Discussion
I've just bought a vented textile jacket (Rev'it Eclipse) and am very impressed with it - slim sporty style, decent enough armour and very very vented, optional drop-in waterproof liner too. Does the equivalent exist in trouser form, or am I being silly?
From what I can gather, the choice seems to be waterproof touring-style textiles or armoured denim-style jeans - does a decent-looking "urban" textile vented trouser exist? Use would be mostly commuting into London, so stop-start traffic mostly. Or are more modern riding denims lighter weight? I'm coming back to biking after 9-10 years out, so learning about new kit at the moment.
Any thoughts welcome!

I'm not sure if it classes as urban, but I have the rst ventilator jacket and jeans. The jeans are like waterproof textile in appearance, but are made of mesh, very cool to ride in. Obviously not waterproof, but include a liner.
That said, I barely use them, and generally just go with something like a denim look motorcycle jean.
Hope that helps

I’ve been using an RST ventilator 5 jacket and jeans for a few years now and it’s been fantastic.I started off with a Rukka suit, but found it too hot most of the time-I’ve got to get around to selling it off.
As mentioned above,it comes with a water(splash)proof insert,as well as a quilted insert for colder weather.I pop a Richa rain warrior top and bottoms over the top in rain.
In the hot weather,it really comes into its own though and is really comfortable with a great flow of air throughout. You can upgrade the supplied armour if you need to.
The quality has been pretty good and for the price,I rate it.

I went from an Eclipse jacket (found the sizing a bit off) to an Acerbis Ramsey vented jacket and matching trouser.
They are literally quite cool.
No liner, zip or hip protection pockets. But the back is quite high and there's velcro'd waist asjustment. From what I can remember there's no zip in the Eclipse is there?

Pretty nice looking jacket that eclipse - will it attach to some dainese "drake air" bottoms maybe? They are ventilated bottoms..

Thanks for that steer - didn't have the Drake Air in my size, but had a decent deal on the Drake Super Air, so giving that a go. It looks to fit slim like the jacket, so may match well. https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/...
Hopefully I won't need the build of Rossi to fit into a medium Dainese - lockdown hasn't helped in that regard

I've been looking for similar recently and like the rev'it eclipse but what's stopping me, and I know this is stupid, is the what resembles a big recycling emblem on the back. Lovely jacket apart from that.
Alpinestars do this but not as nice as the rev'it in my mind. https://www.getgeared.co.uk/alpinestars-luc-jacket...

The emblem isn't very large on the jacket at all, pretty subtle. It also doesn't look like the recycling symbol in the flesh, at least not to my eyes! I actually have the Torque jacket (not the Eclipse - was sent the wrong one and liked it, so paid difference and kept it!) - still low-key, branding-wise, and is basically the Eclipse but with a removable waterproof liner.
On the trouser front, to the extent anyone is interested, the Dainese fit well and are very nice, lightweight and quality feel, with strong knee and shin armour. However they seem designed to go inside rather than over full-length boots, as the lower leg doesn't open wide at all, which is a bit odd for a textile, especially with the shin armour. Probably a Dainese thing, as their leathers fit over their boots I think. Don't really want to order short boots (or expensive Dainese race boots) as well, so I'm also looking at single skin Bull-it jeans now. Sportsbikeshop are doing well out of me!

I bet you can get AAA-rated single skin jeans for less money that A-rated Dainese textiles

In that case, Bennetts did a handy guide to single skin jeans: https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/reviews/prod...After a few years of summer touring in, well, touring gear, and being hot an uncomfortable off the bike, I had an epiphany.
Now I tour in a light, unlined Scott jacket, light motorcycle jeans/chino's (by Spidi and Klim) and take a high quality Scott breathable water proof two piece to wear when it's wet or cold.
