Swissvax on my new GT4 - Is it worth it?
Discussion
Hi Everyone
My new GT4 is finally here and i am due to collect it next week! The saleperson is trying to sell me the Swissvax product described below and i just wanted a general opinion if you felt its worth it. Realistically in the past i have always had it but it was always negotiated and thrown in as part of the deal but obviously no chance with the GT4. The cost is not the issue really as in the whole scheme of the car its negligible but as i said i've had it in the past but i cant honestly say that i noticed that it was there. What would you do?
I am not sure we ever discussed the Swissvax product that most customers take on their new vehicles;
It is a professionally detailing product approved by Porsche Cars Great Britain.
The paintwork is cleansed, nourished and protected providing an invisible barrier that protects the paint from the elements adding a greater richness and gloss to the colour beneath. It is a carnauba wax which once applied can last up to a year.
The stages are;
Stage 1 - After the vehicle is thoroughly washed by an authorised Technician the vehicles paintwork is clay barred / cleansed to remove bonded contaminants - e.g tar and tree sap
Stage 2 - The next process is to feed, refine and beautify the paintwork, greatly increasing its gloss levels and perfecting its imperfections.
Stage 3 - The final stage locks in the perfected layer, further adding to the gloss and depth whilst protecting and shielding it from nature’s elements and the sun’s harmful UV rays.
You will receive an aftercare kit that will enable you to maintain your vehicle's appearance for up to a year; you can re-book a Swissvax top up with your annual vehicle health check.
We also treat the leather and carpets with a scotch-guard to prevent staining. It costs £499 plus VAT, supplied and applied and with the aftercare kit and re-application.

People's opinions will vary. I told my OPC I didn't want it, but I'm leaving my GT4 "au naturel" and I'm not bothering with PPF, ceramic coatings and all that jazz. It's a car, it'll get patina, I'm fine with that.
£600 buys a few car valets, I'm spending my money on those instead when I want the car sprucing up better than I do with snow foam and a jet wash.

I had my car PPF on the front, wings, sills and rear quarters etc, it has been sprayed on rather than cut and fitted, as far as I know only Topaz and Lichfields spray on film, I used Lichfields and am very happy with the result, check out their website and watch the video. I also then ceramic coated the whole car including the film. great result and the water just beads off.My new GT4 is finally here and i am due to collect it next week! Swissvax is over priced polishing of your car basically, it’s nothing like you’d get from a good independent retailers. “Qualified technician to clay bar your car”....5 mins on You Tube and £20 spent on a clay bar and some fluid to lubricate and you can do that yourself. Amazing what comes off !

Very true, but yours is Gentian Blue if I remember correctly? Patina is just going to look cack with that and swirls/scratches in the paint will stand out a mile. Looking after it makes sense.Mine is racing yellow, CS pack, harnesses etc so a bit of wear and tear won't look out of place.
