SIM only deals
Discussion
My contract is up in less than a month and looking to go SIM only.
Where does everyone get those super deals that I hear about?! I can never find anything decent!
Ideally, I would like as much data as possible (currently get 32GB and have to be careful towards the end of the month).
Use it for Netflix and Spotify for a few hours a day.
Either O2 (Tesco) or Vodafone as they are the only ones that seem to get decent signal around home and work.
O2 are doing 100GB for £20 a month. 12-month contract.
I'm going to speak to Vodafone and see if they can match (or beat it as with them currently). But if anyone knows of any websites that can offer something similar that would be great!
Thanks

. I got a good deal from EE by going into one of their shops. Unlimited calls and text 20GB for £5/m. It was a special the guy cobbled together with discounts and extra 'free' data. It has just rolled over to a second year, stayed the same bar a few pence for RPI.

I've been on sim only for many years now I've had:
O2, Three, EE
I'm now on "Smarty" which runs off the back of Three/owned by Three, £18 unlimited everything, monthly rolling contract.
Now I am a very heavy user and so far not come across any fair usage restrictions etc, have travelled through Europe and its worked fine.

Techradar collate sim-only deals.
I've been through GiffGaff(?) Who run off O2 and therefore really good reception.
Currently on SMARTY who piggyback 3. Its a cracking deal where you get money back for unused data. Works out as £5-£7 a month for me depending on use.
VOXI is a Vodafone alternative that don't count social media as data, not sure if that includes some of the things you mentioned.

I'm with Giffgaff and find them great but I think they throttle speeds over a certain point so their top bag may not work for you.
Hot UK Deals is usually a good source or as an alternative (although I haven't been shopping for a while) all the highstreet phone shops seem to put sandwich boards out with special limited deals they are doing on sim only contracts, maybe worth a walk down the high street and see what's on offer.

Very cheap if you can be bothered sending off your bills every few months for the cashback...

giffgaff T&Cs:
After 80 GB of data used you'll experience a reduced data speed of 384kbps from 8am to Midnight.
Unless things have radically changed at Giffgaff, I always found data speeds poor regardless of going over any cap. Also, data speeds abroad when roaming were a real problem. I always got the impression they were given the scraps on the O2 network. They were unique in the market a few years back, but in general I think people can do a lot better than Giffgaff if they are prepared to commit to a contract. After 80 GB of data used you'll experience a reduced data speed of 384kbps from 8am to Midnight.

ive just gone onto a 18m o2 sim only, unlimited texts, unlimited calls and 5gb for £10.00 a month. Cant beat it in my opinion.
Smarty offer 30gb for £10 and its only a month contract.. so yeh you can bear that.
Also, Vodafone are doing 9GB for £8 on a 12month.
Plusnet have 8GB for £9 on a 1month.
Sorry to piss on your chips....

Prices seem to be coming down all the time. I'm paying £10/month for 5GB with Talkmobile (Vodafone), which was a pretty good deal when I started it, they're now offering 9GB for £9 (or 30 GB for £15), although that does say UK calls/text. So far they haven't complained that I've not been to the UK since early March.
I've just been through the Vodafone retention team shizzle and renewed my kids' and my SIM only deals after threatening to leave. Kids are at Uni (or should be) but are burning through data and hitting their 20GB limit every month.
60 GB for £18 per month. 40GB for £14. Pretty happy with that.
