Nissan remember they can make new cars as well as flogging old platforms for decades...

New logo, front badge may be illuminated
CCS charge port on passenger side for export models per electrek, chademo in Japan
AWD or 2WD
63 kWh or 87 kWh battery WATER COOLED
375km/h range recharged in 30 minutes on DCFC, 130kW per Electrek
0-62 in 5.1s (probably AWD top model)
OTA Updates
Some more self-driving/driver-assist features
Offset screens are supposedly one panel of glass for whatever reason
Entire center console slides back and forth to some degree
Navigation with charging stops
Amazon alexa integration is something I guess
Self opening door or something? I wasn't looking but they said something about an intelligent key
No pricing or dates on stream, 40k starting price in 2nd half of 2021 for US per Electrek
We can more or less estimate the range around 4x the kwh, so ~240 to 360 miles. It's a rough estimate but it will probably not land too far from that. You can also work back from their fast charging numbers for another estimate. Assuming it's a 10-80 charge in 30 minutes, that's ~334 miles of range at 100%. If you assume a 250Wh/mile rate, that's 117kW on average charging for 30 minutes. Working back from 31% battery = 160km range from alexa, that is about 320 miles of range
The "virtual tour" has this link for the US in the 'force of wonder' section to a 'virtual car.' The link doesn't seem live yet but i'd keep an eye out there

Very interesting if it comes to pass.
Front badge won't be illuminated, not legal in the UK and I think also under EU rules. Maybe in Japan.
Moving to CCS would be a big deal, maybe not good news for Leaf owners.
Cooled battery is huge for Nissan. I wonder if it's the same one that Kia and Hyundai use, that has proven to be very successful in their cars.

Highly doubt that Nissan dont have any links to them esp being tied in with Renault etc
Well Nissan started out making its own batteries for the Leaf, but then gave up and sold the company. I haven't been following it but maybe they switched supplier. I think Kia and Hyundai are using LG from memory.LG seem to have the best price/capacity/longevity ratio at the moment. Unlimited mileage, unlimited years warranty on the battery in some markets.
Looks fine, but there's a glut of these small-medium sized electric SUVs and crossovers - XC-40 Recharge, Q4 E-Tron, iX3, Kona, E-Niro, Model Y, Mach E, Fisker Ocean, Nio ES6, Byton M-Byte, ID. Crozz, MG eZS, Skoda Enyaq, etc... It's going to take a lot to stand out in this crowded market.
Looks like a Lexus
Nissan are in proper no mans land IMO. I guess they don't have the money to do stuff?
Had to rent a car last time I was in the US and I got a new Nissan Murano SV and it was awful. Unless it was some kind of rental-special spec, I couldn't believe thats what they passed off as a modern car. It felt really old and basic even by ICE standards.

Honda wanted to do it on the e but couldn't. I don't know what the rules are exactly and it will be at the European level too unless we decide to throw away convergence in January.
I can't see anything in the EU type approval regs which would make an illuminated badge illegal as long as it was white and not overly bright. I have a soft spot for Nissans, learnt to drive in a Datsun, first car was a Micra, loved watching Matt Neal in Nissan Primera fight with a Volvo estate in BTCC, spent far too much ££££ on my old 350Z and the Leaf was my first EV.
I would be lying if I said Nissan couldn't tempt me to swap our Tesla for this!!

The dual motor version will have their new e-4ORCE tech that stops the passengers getting rocked back and forth as the car comes to a stop. It's impressive stuff.
Now that is clever.
