Just had my dad ask about sorting him out a car.

They have a flat in London want a car for when they come over more often due to step mums old age mother and seeing more of her.

Looking for some sort of cheap 4-5k run about which is large enough for 2 bikes, automatic, low emission zone accessible without paying (I think, I don’t know the ruleS in London well).

My first thoughts were something like a 1.0 focus but not really sure how the emission zone works.

They have been for the last 8 years or so since they sold the last car.

The trips have become more frequent to the point of maybe 2 months a year in London now. They have 2 parking spots so no cost related to that.

Corsa and a bike rack? Or are you looking for something a bit more PistonHeads?

They hate driving. However they often fly with suitcases and such so need real back seats which they can put flat for bikes, if they have to remove front wheel.

Honda Jazz with CVT, about 2.5K for under 40 miles. Loads of boot space and very easy to srop the back seats.

Jazz would be too small I feel, civics arent that large!

Car wont sit for 10 months, rather be used for a week every 2 months or so when they are back. Both are half retired so flying back from usa more often now.

Is there a co2 limit for being low emission zone free or such? I dont really know how it works in london and what gets charged what.

They're suprisingly roomy, with the seats down the load space is pretty decent, and flat and accessible. YMMV of course!
