diff parts?

G'day all

Anyone know any good suppliers of the Jag diff parts? I'm only after a few seals. I found a great online one a while back but can't find it again. Had various exploded diagrams of the parts.

I managed to get the seal kit from Jag dealer (LSD from an XJS apparently) without any prob. Was about £20 a side and very comprehensive. Just a bugger to fit !

that's not too bad a price, they all looked fairly trouble free to replace, though I haven't got the front one out yet, what gave problems?

Yes it has a horrible crush washer on the drive shaft side that was a right pain to tighten up, but as long as you have a decent solid workbench and scaffold bar on end of socket you should not have a problem.

Bit like doing up the rear hub nuts from what I hear

Ah, I see, got that one to come then. Not removed the front yet as I've misplaced that size socket.

I've got a 300lb ft torque wrench and lots of scaff bar! The rear hub nuts are a pain I would agree!

The input drive flange oil seal can be got from landrover parts suppliers,
some landies had a salisbury diff at the rear.

John Gordon Jag Spares in Accrington 01254 398476. The guy did spend a good 5 mins telling me that the diff in a Wedge was not out of a Jag, but I said I'd take the chance and the rear cover seal fitted OK.

Not out of a Jag? Did he offer any suggestion as to where it is 'really' from?!

Got out a collection of heavy artillery ready to do battle with said nut. Attached socket and.....spun it off with my fingers. I think we know what's happened there........I have superpowers, that's the only rational explanation

On an unrelated note, it's a shame I'm having to chop the tubes out of the front of the trailing arms and weld new ones in The pivot bolt and it are moulded together as one, and the threads are knackered. Ah well, all good fun!
