Water damaged android phone

Hi all, just after some advice. Basically my samsung A71 ended up in the sink. It was only partially submerged and it had a case on at the time. The phone was okay for around 10 minutes afterwards while i was drying it. But then turned itself off. I stuck it in a bowl of rice overnight. Tried to turn it on this morning and it came back to life for a few seconds and then the screen went fuzzy. The phone is now back in the rice and has been there for roughly 24 hours.

I now know that i should have turned it off instantly and left it in the rice for roughly 3 days before attempting to turn it back on. Is my phone completely knackered? My worry is that I completely buggered it this morning when attempting to turn it back on.

I'd say it was broken anyway, turning it on won't really have caused any further harm IMO.

Hope you had data back up to Google cloud!

Ye, not the hope i was hoping for! Phoned around a few repair shops today and they all said the same thing. Put it in rice.

Other thing you can do is put it in kitty litter...just make sure tiddles hasn't had a dump

The important thing is turning off as soon as possible and leaving as long as possible for it to dry before turning on again. I knew it already but I also saw the same QI episode recently.
