This whole "I am sat" thing - is it a "thing"?

All three are correct. The first two are present tense, the last past tense.

Agreed, but I'd add there's a minute and implied subtlety, which linguists would explain more delicately than I can:

"I am sitting in the pub" : current action - read as "ready when you are!"

"I am sat in the pub" : it's already happened - "ps off if you think I'm moving!"
