Do you get lots of spectators? Wouldn't want to look an odd ball

Turbo Busa is the way to go fast on the 1/4.....
Some really trick bikes running in Superstreet Bike FIM competition....
Fully programmable boost and clutch adjustments amongst others....
Steve Venables runs high 6 second quarters on a treaded tyre...
Maybe not quite straightliners but does show what can be done....
Lot of folks never been to a drag race and tend to look down on the sport....
And for the record, thats his daughter in the far lane

I used to go as a teenager with my uncle who still races. They were a very nice bunch, I've no doubt they still are.
Some interesting bikes pushing out some massive numbers.
You'd not be an odd ball for spectating. I'd go myself if it were more local.
ETA: 267mph run on a 660bhp busa;

That's my (and frankly everyone's) mate, Woody. He rides for BigCC racing, they were aiming for 300mph this year but I'm assuming efforts have been delayed due to COVID-19. I know Guy Martin was trying for similar.
k that.2018 they did 272mph on a ~934bhp bike.
But yeah, these guys often are due far more respect than many award them, that's why it's worth going down there and seeing for yourself in my opinion.
Drag racing is like any sport, when being performed by experienced riders they make it look easy, almost boring. However the engineering and skill involved to achieve the results is amazing. You give it a go, learn the basics and quickly realise how much you've got to learn and gain an appreciation for those that devote themselves to it.

/\ Absolutely this.I was at Avon raceway about 30 years back when a top fuel bike ran the 1/4 mile in a fraction under 6 seconds. For a mostly street legal bike on treaded tyres to be within a second of that is very impressive.

Top fuel and Funny cars only run 1000 foot instead of the full quarter but still reach speeds of over 330mph in under 4 seconds 1000 foot also applies to TF bikes
Top Fuel bikes still run over the full 1320ft.Current record is 5.50 @ 264mph by Larry McBride.
