Ok so this sub reddit is full of people with a lot more knowledge on cars than me this question might not even belong here but I wanted to ask your opinion on something. I recently competed my 12 lessons for driving altogether I did about 20 or 21 aa I did extra for practise. I'm looking at getting my first car and I really want to get a ford focus. It's a 2008 1.6 litre. The insurence is over a grand. Which is cheap around where I'm from believe me. Most places it can be 3 or 4k. however one or 2 people are telling me that a 1.6 litre Ford focus is way to powerful for a first car. And I shouldn't get it. Do you think it I should reconsider? I live about 30 minutes from town so I thought a 1.6 would be better over a 1 litre or 1.2 any feed back appreciated

1.6 focus is absolutely fine for a first car.

To be honest it's all about how you drive. It's perfectly possible to kill yourself in a 1.2 fiesta. No reason at all to suggest that a 1.6 family hatch is any more dangerous for a new driver.
