Hi All,

In need of a little advice, my current setup is a Surface Pro 6 + Acer ka270h monitor running via a surface pro dock. I'd like to add some additional screen real estate so I was looking to add an extra monitor but was unsure on what connectors I need to use to connect the 2nd screen up.

I'm assuming i'll need another USBC - HDMI lead but I did read somewhere that to run a special lead (active?).

Also, what dual mounts do people recommend? I'd be looking for something I can clamp to a desk but the reviews on amazon are very mixed

Cheers,
Phill

If it is the official dock then it should have 2 video out ports. IIRC they are mini display port so most newer monitors should support this. You can get mini dp to hdmi cables if needed from amazon.

It does indeed. I was just getting a little confused by the whole active thing. Thanks for your help

Be aware the Surface Book 2 doesnt play terribly nicely with both connected. Wake it up, and toss a coin as to whether all your nicely arranged windows will now be cramming themselves onto your main display smile

That's strange, I've not had an issue with my Surface Laptop and 2 external monitors although I am using a Dell dock rather than the surface connector.

There is a Firmware update for the Surface Dock.
Might be worth checking yours is up to date.
