E70s into middle age. Moneypits?

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone on here is running an E70 30d into middle age and if/how the running costs are fairing. We currently have a 58 reg E91 330D non-LCI, so the last of the M57s, with the ZF6. As I have mentioned previously we love the engine and gearbox but the interior space is a bit lacking.

I would be interested in an E70 in 30d flavour (235BHP M57 with efficient dynamics) in the lower VED range. I would favour a Werthers original SE spec for the softer ride and ideally a non-drug dealer colour scheme.

Any must-have options or should-avoid moneypit options. I know little about these other than aspects that are common with our 330d.

Other relevant thngs - I am not keen on E61s. We live in Dorset and have no plans to drive into the ULEZ 2021 zone (ever!)

Thoughts from E70 beards would be appreciated.

I wish I could find one with the N52 Petrol engine but they are very difficult to come by.
