Here's a copy of the advert text...pictures all look very clean indeed.
A steal given the price, I would suggest.
I’m looking to move onto my next TVR which means selling the 500.
£15,250

Powers upgraded engine mounts
New discs all round with braided hoses

"The group for anyone who has or likes the TVR Chimaera.
This is a place to chat about Chims, exchange photos and videos and generally have a chim-wag.
It IS NOT a sales / wanted board - these posts may be deleted."
original chassis with a 24y old car and ~50.000 miles would ring the alarm-bells

Here come the chassis policeI don't understand why people get so hung up on chassis'. its not that difficult to fix IF it is an issue and in the grand scheme of sports car ownership not that expensive either. Even cheaper if you DIY it at home
As it goes one of the worst chassis' I have seen did have the outriggers done!
I don't know anything about the car above btw, just my 2pence worth
The cost of “just” doing the chassis or outriggers isn’t too bad, as you say.
However, I still don’t see how you can properly weld the outriggers all the way round without at least lifting the body or cutting the GRP. I wouldn’t want the body cut to weld outriggers.
If you are lifting the body an inch, you may as well take it off. Then it isn’t the cost of just the chassis, but everything else you will do “while the body is off and it is easy to get to”
I agree it isn’t end of world if everything on the car is good and that an engine rebuild with a bit of extra power will cost just as much.
BUT, if you are choosing which to buy, and there is a choice of two and on one of them someone else has already spent all that money, then that is the one to go for.

And there shows the fundamental difference with a full body off chassis restoration. And you can only see half of it
.
Like this car suggests, many replacement parts and preventative maintenance should be going into these jobs so you are buying a lot more than a fresh set of riggers.
Even if a car is valued say 3-5 k more for a body off such as this it’s a bargain going forward and the knowledge you do indeed have a solid chassis for years to come a very nice thought.
It makes developing the rest of the car worth it, that’s if it’s not already.
