Help - e92 320d power loss after timing chain replacement
Discussion
I have a 320d 2012 auto with 112k on the clock which gave me no issues whatsoever until last week where my timing chain snapped!
I’ve had this replaced along with the camshaft carrier as this was also damaged and i’ve just got the car back. The car seems smooth however, it has a major loss in power! When i put my foot down it revs clean however there is a massive noticeable difference in the power, it really is struggling.
I’ve got back to my mechanic who advised me to drive it over the weekend and to bring it back in monday, however, i’m looking for some advice on what this could potentially be?
The gearbox also seems very laggy and there is such a decrease in power im unable to even spin the back wheels. The pedal almost feels flat as if it isnt biting at all.

Cam timing out. Or one or more cam lobes was knocked around when valves hit pistons. The cams are hollow shafts with the lobes splined on. You must replace any clobbered valves. Even if they look straight they can be slightly bent resulting in compression loss. maybe there's a vacuum pipe off somewhere.
