Discussion
I haven't seen any posted here yet, so here's a few snaps I took of the new Tuscan 2 convertible at Le Mans

Great photos Ed and completely backs up what Unrepentant said on my pod issue thread. TVR were aware of the prob ages ago. This new dash wasn't designed and built by the pod fairies overnight.Yes I do realise we are looking at 350 design, its the incorporation into a Tusc I am referring to. Need to see it in the flesh but 1st impressions (of the dash and pod) dont convince me yet. Still got to be an improvement on the current Mk2 visibility wise.

Just noticed the sensible indicators too, hmmmmm.

Looks a bit basic, but I still like it. I especially like the centre part for the radio which IMHO has always looked a little incongrous with the interior on both the first and second generation targas. I really like the swoopy style of the whole dash though I think the Tuscan may deserve something a little more 'extraordinary' than the T350/Tamora dials though. Overall, I love the car - it looks really graceful. Would be nice to see a whole car shot with the roof up to get that effect if there are any.
Thanks for the photos - great effort.

Nice......the curves of the dash reflect the curves of the bonnet......
Maybe I prefer the MK2 steering wheel and I think they should keep the horizontal stainless steel bar across the dash....which I had thought was part of the roll cage, guess not...

Well that answers a few of my early questions. When I placed the order for my baby it was suggested that I visit the factory during the final stages of build. It later turns out that the extent of the tour was greatly reduced so I decided not to go. The factory suggested that if I was interested then they would e-mail me some pics of my car being built, obviously I said yes
So some pics arrive about a month ago of the engine on the floor, some the body being put together etc and some pictures of the dash in construction..... I bet you can guess where this is going..... It was that new dash board! My Mk2 turned up as all of the rest.. thankfully as despite the inability to see how fast you are going, I feel the look is fantastic (I actually said to my dealer that if it did turn up looking any different to what I was expecting then he would have a new Mk2 S on his hands without a buyer!)
Interestingly the dealer had no idea about the dash.
So sorry guys for not giving you this scoop earlier.

It looks like the dials, steering column, roof and mechanism and the door switch units (albeit in a different place), are the same as the T's! Have the accountants been given more clout as homogenisation is rife, or a case of a tried and tested design and a ‘If it isn’t broke,,,,’ mentality.
Either way, I like it, and I may get one next year (If it does handle as well as a Tam, that is)

It oes look there are many moves at TVR to simplify their operation - and I suppose the opportunity to lower production costs. Let's look at the evidence so far:
1. not offering some colours they used to - maybe too difficult to paint quickly: rosso pearl, crystal topaz, spectraflair topaz (someone said on here recently)
2. closing up the bonnet vents on the Sagaris - just takes too long to cut them and finish them to a high standard
3. closure of the factory service facility - one less department to have in the organisation
4. more sharing of components between models in the case of the Tuscan "3" with it new dashboard arrangement, and ease of manufacturing it as either LHD drive or RHD due to the symmetrical design.
As someone else mentioned, where has that horizontal beam gone that used to be on show and was 'part of the structure of the car, bracing it horizontally for chassis rigidity' - the bit that ran under the dashboard? Have they decided to bury it under the trim now then?
I look forward to seeing some more examples of this dash in different and contrasting colours - it is rather tasty and lookes very together.

I think that this is a vast improvement on the coupe's interior. One thing I notice though is the seat belts must clip in on the door side?
Is this legal??? Would you be able to unclip them in a side impact situation??
Think it must be legal, murcielago belts are the same - probably others also.

By using the Tamora dash,it`s yet another signal to me that they will stop making the Tam IMHO of course
I must try and get a prototype to show at the Tuscan Weekend?
