hi folks, one of the shocks on the golf is leaking, and there is a knocking from the rear so I plan to replace them all.

I want to keep the car standard, but concerned about the oem build quality so I am looking at bilstein b4 or b6. I wondered if anyone had fitted either of these? I am inclined to go for the b4 as I don't want anything firmer, if its marginally less firm thats actually a benefit to me. Given b4 is marketed as oem replacement I wanted to check its going to be in the same ballpark as the oem gear and not like a non gti type of oem.

The car doesn't have dcc.

Thanks!

How many miles on yours?

I'm about to hit 71k on original dampers with no issues. I like you would also be concerned about accidentaly buying something very different.

Bilstein have an app where you can get all the correct part numbers for your specific car.

Seems to be a common issue with this platform.

My 63 plate GTi (with DCC) has them done last year with less than 30k on the clock.

My 17 plate Octavia albeit a PHC has leaky fronts at 60k.
