Just got my Hayabusa running again after 15 years of SORN.

TBH I never really used it 10/10ths back in the day but now even 50%thottle/revs is terrifying. Gonna take some time to recalibrate methinks.

What should I look out for (bike reliability wise) after having been so long off the road? nerd

Fork seals and check the rear shock absorber for leaks also. Other than that, change all the fluids, might want to check the brake callipers to make sure all the pistons move as they should.

And if the tyres are 15 years old, get them changed now!

I have 9 year old tyres on my busa. On the plus side the wear rate is fantastic, on the flip side the already sketchy braking is made a little more tricky.

Change the brake lines too if they are original.

Fuel leaks if it’s had fuel sitting in there that long.

Change of pants may also be required.
