I'm considering a car on ebay that's up for a bit over £4k. It's in Bournemouth and I'm in Lancaster, 300 miles away, and at the moment I'm not that up for a mammoth train ride. Can anyone recommend a service that would do some kind of cursory inspection of the car to say it is as the seller it is (no warning lights etc) and get it to me on a trailer or transporter? Obviously there would be no comeback.

It's a service I used to do.

I've bought plenty of cars with no warning lights showing when I left the seller, for it to come on after I've left.

Easy for a seller to reset them with an Ebay tool.

Some minor faults take three starting cycles before they'll bring the engine light on.

So what I'm saying is don't be too surprised if one comes on whilst your delivery driver is bringing it to you, or the next day.

Regarding a service that operates now, maybe shiply would be worth a look.

Not sure if they'll do an inspection though.
