MS Edge just appeared on a W7 machine.
Discussion
Yep, they are rolling it out to Win7 machines. They didn't want to, but the issue is that a lot of corporate desktops are still running Win7, they need a better browser, and they are all migrating to Chrome en masse. So Microsoft had to do something to get them back in the fold.
Plus IE still has security issues and I think Microsoft recognised the amount of brand damage that it was doing to them.
I've been using "new Edge" for some time and IMHO it's great.

But updates have stopped is that correct? So have they just updated by way of a new browser?Plus IE still has security issues and I think Microsoft recognised the amount of brand damage that it was doing to them.

Updates for 7 have stopped unless you spend money (or possibly hunt out packages on the MS catalogue, I've not looked properly). I believe Chredge is due to receive patches separately from the underlying OS, not via Windows update - that's certainly the behaviour on 10.Gassing Station | Computers, Gadgets & Stuff | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
