This is the Porsche Museum car.
I have see an older 901...a pre-production prototype, which is slightly different to the production 901 dimensionally so the glass is not interchangeable for instance, and this very early car had a 356 instrument panel and strange side window defrosters which never made it into production.
My Photobucket appears to be non-operational again but here is my Rennlist post on this prototype with pics included:

Strange story about it...it was in a scrapyard in Michigan, but the owner of the yard thought it was odd, so he advertised it -knew it was worth something. Sold it to a guy in Michigan in poor shape decades ago and it was not cheap for the time. About $20,000.
For many years Porsche would not authenticate it, but eventually they found the record. It was the car used to test heating snd cooling and was sold off to a senior employee in the US.
No idea of the value now, but I have only seen a handful of rarer cars.
