So i have been looking at focus ST mk2's for sale and my budget for this was ariund the 3500 pound mark. I came across one today for 2495. Its got 130000 miles on the clock. What do you all reckon?

Update. I have read some reviews and i wont be wasting my time. From people not getting there warranty honoured to one man recieving a NIP in post for speeding and driving with no tax... 5 hours before he had even bought the car! I will keep saving and wait it out!

Wouldnt be a bad idea however i dont know any 😂 was wondering if me thinking i could get a decent car of that spec with that budget was unrealistic!

Can you share the advert? You will get better advice that way but generally speaking cheap cars are cheap for a reason.

You tend to find the more you spend the better car you get as someone said it'll be cheap for a reason.

Buying from a dealer is a good idea if you don't know too much about cars, and can't take someone with you.

At least you'll have some comeback if it turns out to be unroadworthy etc...

But when dealers say "Px to clear" if often means they'll sell you the car and tell you they're not giving a warranty, so be wary.

They have an obligation to ensure it's roadworthy, fit for purpose, so it should be able to pass an MOT test.

I still say find someone to take with you.

That could be a decent enough car for that budget, but you wont know until you go along to see it.

The dealer is registered with companies house so hopefully not a driveway trader that's here today, gone tomorrow. Been registered about a year.

Looks like they'll be putting a new MOT on it according to the advert.

Try not to pay cash, Credit card deposit of at least £300 and the rest by debit card, or bank transfer, from the same bank as the credit card, and you'll have a little help from the bank if all goes wrong and you need some help getting your money back.
