Going to look at this car later, friend of a friend is selling it is it fits the budget and estate loverlyness.

However the is clearly some significant clearcoat and hence paint failure on the rear rhs corner, which I would have to get sorted and factor into the costs. Not seen it in person, but I am told the rest of the car is in good condition, if with age related marks, so hopefully would just be the rear quarter, maybe due to previous paint work? Unless it spreads to the door and you end up doing the whole side!

Only re-spray work I have done so far has been on non-metallic cars, given this is metallic and and older car, how hard would it be to get a good colour match and what are the costs likely to be as a wide ball park? Assuming no rust, it would be a glass in mask-up job.

Roof strips want a touch up as well!

Thanks in advance.

I'd hazard a guess that a painter would want to blow into the rear door and also paint the whole of the cant rail.

For a proper job I'd not expect change from £400.

Cheers,

Can of worms there.
1st thing a bodyshop will do is get an airline and blow off the loose clear and that can just keep going, could be just that panel but could spread into the door shut or the adjacent panels.
