Any opinions about the original Daihatsu Sirion (1998-2004)?

I have been looking to purchase a small, cheap-to-run car with an edge. I came across a car that I haven't seen in a long time, a Daihatsu Sirion (specifically, the 1998-2004 version).

I really like the classic styling of this car and its resulting scarcity. However, I have been searching for views and discussions about this specific car all over the internet, without finding anything useful - somewhat unsurprisingly, considering it is a lesser-known car.

Does anyone have any experience with this car? I would like to hear your views, as it ticks the boxes for me in terms of size, design, and price - I just need to know if it is a reliable motor. Currently on Gumtree there is a 1999, 1.0 litre, 75k mileage, for £450, as well as a 1999, automatic, 51k mileage for £850, and a 2004, 1.3 litre for £800.
