Hi all - I recently bought some tyres from Blackcircles for my DB9. Annual service at Stratstone Western Avenue highlighted tyres needed replacing (including one with a nail in) and I wanted to try the Michelin Pilot 4S rather than the standard Aston tyres. Stratstone refused to fit anything else, so got them delivered to my local tyre place with fitting included.

Went yesterday to get them fitted and showed them the workshop manual re. correct jacking points. After some deliberation and a call to their head office, they decided they couldn't fit the tyres and risk damaging the car. So, problem. Where do I get them fitted in south London? Anyone had success, please?

Thanks!

I have in the past jacked up my DB9 and put it on 4 axle stands, remove the wheels and take them to my local tyre fitter with the new tyres, works a treat.

That way you know 100% the car has been jacked up correctly.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't have the facilities to do that - no offstreet parking.

Thanks again for all the hints and tips. Just an update on this. I first tried to have Blackcircles arrange for fitting at a different garage, while simultaneously acquiring four hockey pucks. I was then told that none of their garages would fit them, not because of the jacking procedure, but because "their tyre removal machines are not for purpose, due to the dimensions on Aston Martin wheels being different to regular wheels". Clearly that's wrong as there are plenty of mass market SUVs with similar wheels.

Nonetheless, I spoke to Pugsley & Lewis and arranged for the tyres to be delivered there and fitted. It took Blackcircles over a month to deliver the tyres (hugely slow response by email or phone and web chat service no longer available), but very nice and quick service from P&L on the fitting (albeit the phone-quoted price of £150 turned out to be £240 after replacing one pressure sensor, disposing of the old tyres and adding VAT). £90 back from Blackcircles covered some of this.

I think I will use P&L for next year's service, but will be very clear on the pricing in advance! Not sure I will be using Blackcircles again.

Took the car out for a long run this weekend and I'm very happy with the Michelins so far.

I was advised by Mike at BR to also check Camskill. I've found them to be cheaper than BC each time I've checked and the guy on the phone was super-helpful. Can't say I've tried them yet as I'm waiting to pull the trigger - in my case I'll be going for Continental SportContact 6's as I can't get the front size for my V8V in PS4S

Very expensive..

I usually pay £12 to swop tyres over at my local place. Have taken a range of sizes from 18 to 20 inch. All the same price.
