I'm thinking of getting a new SE, 24 month contracts will work out more or less the same as an outright purchase, so looking at buying it sim free.

Can get from Apple, or John Lewis with a 2 year warranty. Pros and cons? LIke the fact that it is not locked, is that the same with JL? Any better options?

I opted for JL - unlocked and two-year, no-quibble guarantee.

Apple Refurbished is always worth checking regularly.

(Not what you want at the moment, but how about this for value!)

When lewis' offer the same price with the extra years warranty its a no-brainer really ... unless you can get it from apple with AppleCare for the same price (which is very rare)

Both will be fine, however:
Bought my iPhone from JL, had an issue took it to JL store they sent away to be sorted. About 2 weeks later, got repaired/replaced item.

Had I bought from Apple, I would have walked in and had replacement there and then.

So, should you get an issue, you would need a "spare" whilst the broken device is sent for repair/replacement.
