Le Mans: A Rough Guide

Got a bit buzzed watching Le Mans on Eurosport, so I'm thinking of going next year.
What advice can anyone give regarding travel arrangements, survival tactics, accommodation options, in-race information feeds, vantage points, what to do and what not to do, etc. etc.
It might be handy for other similarly minded folk if there's a single source of such information.

I went last year. I went over on the fast sea cat form Poole to St.Malo. Camped in Maison Blanche but most seem to prefer Houx, better showers I've heard. 
I would take wet-wipes and not bother with the shower.
I would definitely invest in grandstand tickets which I didn't have last year and it was very hard to get a good view of the start and finish.
Oh, and don't fall down any ditches and fall asleep for 3 hours.

we stayed in Maison Blanche this year and would again!
the showers are not great but its camping what do you expect!
we were showering under a hose, its cold but wakes/sobers you up! and is quites rereshing in that heat!
the hardest thing is keeping your beer cold so make sure you have a decent cooler! this also applies to food
get to the site latest on the thursday morning to secure a decent plot.
and a barbeque is a good idea

We have been 3 times now and it gets better every year. My advise would be to go with your local tvrcc they will know all the best places to see the race and events going on such as friday night drivers parade ph meet at arnage etc. book your tickets through the tvrcc and you will get grandstand seats camping passes coaches into le man friday night etc.

Our group booked through MRI for Camp Houx on our 4th trip.(in December!)
As you'll be with the TVR club they'll probably use the same campsite ,it's quite popular due to having Showers and more importantly numbered reserved pitches. Even on a Thursday evening arrival we found on other the sites , decent space is getting harder to find!
