Uh oh...another one...
Discussion
The DB11 isn’t popular on this small, well pruned patch of the internet, but variety is the spice of life and on this day in history, we still have freedom of choice. This is the new weekend transport.
After nearly striking a deal on another car the day before lock down and dealers closing, the week after dealers were open, an appointment was made, I had a look at the car which had only just come in, hadn’t been prepped yet, but I saw enough to know it was the right car. I'd have loved a 4.0 Vantage, but at the point where I had to get my act together, this car was the right one.
I asked if the car could be prepped in time for today as an early Birthday treat (35 tomorrow – suddenly I feel like 40 is just around the corner). A detail and ceramic coating later, this afternoon I collected her (and I even got cake!).
A massive thank you to George, Matthew and Chris at Aston Martin Bristol. This is my 3rd car from them - they’ve been working flat out recently, just as all the dealer network has since re-opening, and the amount of hoops they had to jump through to ensure the business was covid-19 secure, while still providing an experience you expect at Aston Martin, I believe should be applauded.
Some spec details for those interested:
Launch Edition V12 DB11 in Ultramarine Black, external bright finish pack, directional wheels. Dark Knight leather, Indigo Blue contrast stitching, celestial perforation and brogue detailing. Piano Black fascia and door cards, headliner matched to seats (looks super IMO), Caspian Blue carpets and B&O stereo (standard fit on the Launch Edition cars – later became a £5k option, and sounds superb).

Obligatory ghastly interior shots…
