Thank you

You reckon a coupe would have been a bit closer? What’s the weight penalty for convertible?

Also yeah that looked like a little late to be braking

Edit and was it 2 up in both cars?

Yes two up in both cars half a tank of fuel and at the end of the day so both cars heat soaked 47c intake temps before even started - I expect they would have been in the 65c region at VMAX. I don't think cab v coupe makes massive difference. The cab was putting down 2.6 sec 60s all day and 6 secs to 100 so hardly slow. 120mph where the 992 appears in vid just before quarter mile or 8 sec mark is when 992 really lifts her skirt up.

We are waiting for the 8 secs side view and some other footage from VMAX can edit in due course if anyone wants side by side take off too.

Did you just completely miss the braking point or was there a problem with the car ?
It was a great day out.
What were your best terminals in the two cars ?
Personally I think whoever was supposed to collate the terminal speeds made a right hash of it.
We still have not got the numbers for my mates tuned E63.
I cannot see the numbers for the Corvette that was there.
They had me down at a 195.15mph and 191.12mph.
For a stock Hellcat the 191.12mph is a more realistic number.
Fast forward to 2:30 for the start of the run if you get bored waiting.

I'm not sure sir don't know 992 turbo s driver looks like he accelerated back up to 200mph or at least tried to. Gorgeous car. Nicest on the day for me. Any other car would have been a goner inc the 991 turbo s.

Thought the 991 did well tbh, even looked like it was at least holding the gap if not slowly closing it at higher speeds.

Is the 991 100% stock? My guess is it either isn't, or the 992 isn't quite run in. Either way that 991 cab is very very fast (I've seen the vid against the 700 Nissan GTR)

The 992 is 10% more powerful. You'll struggle to drop the 0-60 time by the full 10% because there's only so far you can take it, but once moving (above 60) you *should* see the extra power of the 992.

Specced the 991 straight from factory. Last order slot in UK she is completely stock other than 50 cel EP2 exhaust but makes zero difference in power just a very nice sound. I'd agree also more than 580PS I'd say nearer 625PS. I'd also say that 992 is nearer 680PS also only 50 miles v 18,000 miles as u point out.

Hats off to the 991 then! And for mum to beat a 700 GTR like in the vid is just as impressive as the 992 beating the 720 off the lights.

I’ve driven a 997 turbo S and up to and just beyond motorway speeds they are something else. After that aerodynamics hold them back.

Hi Gra, every drag event I’ve been to the trap and vbox don’t match up. A tail wind can make 4 mile difference though easy. Kendrew is very fast on acceleration like for like in something like that 992 maybe 3-4 secs faster than Brunters.

VMAX inadvertently give me the wrong number at every event so your friend not alone. I still love Craig who runs VMAX - the man has the patience of a Saint honestly I hear the nonsense he puts up with from tuners.

Aston Martin Vantage obviously not car 35 - totally stock mezger rules the list of cars that haven’t had their engines forged/built. All four cars above 9e 997.1 turbo have had many thousands spent on them. The owners could have just bought 720s for much less but choose not to. Great we are all different.

This sort of thing is in top 4. 9e philosophy drive to event and drive back nothing else no laptops no supply vehicles and trailers.

PORSCHE wink

Gra that list is provisional. I can't even see the 992 turbo s! Speaking to the owner of 992 he had run 194 mph so slower than 991 maybe which ran 196 mph.

As another member says they settle at same speed roughly around VMAX or if anything 991 gaining. I think the 992 is pulling timing heavily if we see the data logs. The 991's logs will be clean as a whistle as her turbos being run softer. As soon as you start running them hard for 650PS there is a trade off at top end with too much heat caused by high IATs/EGTs.

Does the 992 Turbo S have the wing and splitter deployed? It looks like it in the video? There's a AutoTopNL youtube video with one where it is noticeably quicker over 300km/h one the driver manually retracts them. Just another variable to add.

I realise its not all about numbers this new turbo s SWMBO being on conference calls when drag racing tells you all you need yo about the sort of new Porsche owner and what they want in a car but I can say now you heard it here first a stock 992 turbo s on cup rubber will be putting down sub 10 sec quarters soon whilst having a latte. Easy.

Plenty of tuned and non tuned but something very special re out of factory with warranty. You don't fancy putting your GT3 up against these in August?

I would its fun even in a straight line especially in a manual v world of PDK. GT3 was a gen 1 by the way I've raced previously many times like 20 car lengths and its somewhere on youtube. Still ran 196mph which it shouldn't on 470bhp more like 182mph so he's been messing with her smile

Well done good to see Porsche 911 still rule the roost. I have just booked on for 22 August at VMAX. I can not wait to see 992 turbo s race your manual 997 turbo.
