Horsefly bite

I took the dog for a walk by the river bollin,
Got a couple of lovely blisters, pop or leave?

Just make sure you don't end up with an allergic reaction. My sister has worked with, ironically, horses, for years. Recently she's been getting progressively worse allergic reactions to them. If it's just a blister I'd probably leave it unless it looked like it was infected.

The blister is to protect the skin healing underneath, leave it

Had a bite recently on the back of my leg, took about 5 weeks to fully heal

Would be my guess too, lack of a puncture mark and the swelling is different to a horsefly bite and looks more like a burn.
Keep it out of sunlight.

Your right it does.
I assumed it was a horsefly.
There was some in the area but I don’t think I walked through it

Mind you it’s on the back of my calf so I’d have had to have it brush the back of my leg which is a bit unlikely

I've had a horsefly bite, nasty too. Swelled up but didn't blister.

Despite surviving the tropics, it was a horsefly bite in SW London that put me in hospital.

Got badly infected, couldn't even stand using the affected leg. It was very painful.

Was put on strong antibiotics.

It was just a small red hole on the back of my calve with blood trickling down.

The fly cuts into the skin and then feeds from the blood flow. Fekers!

There is no way on gods green that I would be able to stop myself popping that. Hope it heals up quick.
