Personal Gym - Treadmill advice - NordicTrack and Ifit
Discussion
I am slowly getting fit but want to accelerate my progress. I looked at joining a gym again but meh...what with time slots and everything it doesn't really suit. I need something quickly so driving to a gym, parking and all that faff just put me off. I have been doing some walking and running but the weather can be a killer.
The treadmill for me is my favourite bit of gym equipment so I am about to splash out on one for home as it ticks so many boxes and convert one of the rooms into a small gym to house it and some other bits and pieces (weights and bike). After lots of looking I am drawn to the NordicTrack Commercial 2950. This comes with ifit subscription for a year.
Does anyone have this machine or can they make any other recommendations? I like buying once - and thee large screen, bluetooth, online element really appeals.
Many thanks.

Hopefully their treadmills aren't as bad as their website, which doesn't even load for me.
It looks similar to the Peloton Treadmill/bike. You pay a lot for an average piece of equipment and then you are tied into their software. You probably can't run Netflix on it for example.
Variable gradient when following a route sounds nice but it doesn't really work on a treadmill. Constant speed and gradient or intervals are better.
I would get a decent (and lot cheaper) dumb treadmill that has a tablet mount.
It looks like Mr Smart Fitness Tech himself, DC Rainmaker hasn't even reviewed a NordicTrack treadmill and iFit:
