'ello you lot.

I'm at the stage of building my next Ultima that I need to think about colour (actually, I've been thinking about it for the last 6 months!). I've desperately been trying to find a 'bright' metallic red, but all metallic reds I've seen look burgundy and dirty? The Sagaris comes in a gorgeous red, but I've since found it's a £14k option  The alternative (and an increasingly attractive one) is spectraflair silver.

So if any of you could kindly post pics or URLs to pics showing some colours that fit the bill (TVRs have the best range of funky colours IMHO) then I'd much appreciate it

TA!

Here's Mrs Triple s' sag in Spectraflair silver stolen from another forum. I personally think it looks fantastic. What colour is this then, that's 14k

The 14k paint job was candy apple red (or something like that) and it was the colour which was used on the sagaris at the motorshow. As far as I know this was the only car which was painted in that colour.

The reds you are seeing coming ut the factory on other new cars are probably different. There is a pearlesant red which some sags have been pained in and do look very good. I think it may be nightfire red glow or something similar.

Its a coloured lacquer which allows the base coat to show through, it accentuates highlights and lowlights and allows an amazing depth of colour.

Thanks for your replies all.

Have since been and got a sample of Spectraflair and on balance, it looks like it's the way to go

Candys are gorgeous, but VERY fragile. I don't want the Can-Am as a show car, I want to be able to use it every day, so I need something more hard wearing. Spectra fits the bill nicely

Just got to source the paint now!

Hendry's Sagaris is Red Glow Pearleascent (As is my T350). Looks really good in the sunshine. It's the only colour which makes the Sagaris look that I've seen so far (OK, apart from black).

I think Red Glow would be a great colour for an Ultima. Looks Candy flip pack ish without the silly costs.

Think that might be the Candy Apple Sag that was at the motor show last year.

It's not a colour option TVR will NOT supply this colour, too much involved to spray it.

The Red glow pearl Tuscan however is an option, I know I got one. OH

I think you'll finr it is the only possible successor to Cosmos Blue for the crown of bestest colour on a TVR
