Ferrari complaining of another Spygate scandal
Discussion

Their computers, they suggest, were hacked and the information that they were not conforming to confused Technical Directives was gained by an unnamed team (look out, McLaren - time to save up another $100,000,000) who then told the FIA.
Some of their comments, such as a number of other teams lost performance from their engines due to the TDs has been 'dismissed', rather impolitely, by Wolff.
Last time it was one of their own employees.
If, and it is a big if, they conformed to all the regs and were not cheating, what was there to hack?
Mind you, I'm sorry that Ferrari were found out. Their performances, sometimes outqualifying and outracing Merc, were a bit of a highlight last season.

That article is a few days old now and I haven't heard anything elsewhere to support it.
It doesn't state that Ferrari themselves are claiming they have been hacked, it's just a theory from another publication. I'm pretty sure if Ferrari did believe they had been hacked they would be placing false data to snare the hackers - not telling a magazine about it specifically in reference to the fact they embarrassingly were caught cheating!
Whatever the full story regards supposed hacking, if any.. In the end Red Bull gifted the FIA all they needed to recognise the signs of the cheat occurring at Ferrari and I presume ultimately enough knowledge to prove it once they had seized the PU's. That could and probably did happen without any need for hacking.

Planet F1 with unsubstantiated cack. I'm shocked
The only time they're ever remotely right is when they have simply re-written articles that appeared everywhere else an hour earlier
The headline is ridiculous. Ferrari haven't complained about any such thing as 'hacking'. Some other publication appear to have suggested there was some hacking but nothing official at all. And then Planet F1 justify their headline by working one quote from the other publication in to an article which is in every other regard just a repeat of the well known facts surrounding Ferrari getting caught cheating and their subsequent performance drop.
The mind boggles as to why anyone needs to suggest there is a bigger or more dramatic story than the real life story. Ferrari cheated, and are now stuck this season and next going nowhere competitive in the midfield. They have dragged half the rest of the midfield down with them.. Isn't that enough?

The quotes from Binotto are rather transparent. I think he is working on a defence regarding the dreadful performance of Ferrari this season. To be fair to him, I think you need one. It is a shame. Mind you, it's given us some exciting racing, so not all is lost.

He's definitely working on a defence.. I'm not sure claiming they were hacked is part of his plan though, I think that's the wet dream of whichever journo thought it might be fun.The other week binotto commented "the solution is not to fire anyone" it's hard not to read that as a plea more than a statement.
