Offence code for breaking variable speed limit

Does anyone know what the offence code for breaking a smart motorway variable limit is?

I'm assuming either "SP30 - Exceeding statutory speed limit on a public road" or "SP50 - Exceeding speed limit on a motorway". The reason I'm unsure is that SP50 seems specifically for doing over 70mph, whereas I was at 55 in a 40 limit (quiet stretch of the M4 on a nice evening too, but what can you do).

SP50 is for motorway speed limits whatever they may be at the time IMHO.
