Now that I am doing a heap of Teams video calls, the crappy laptop speaker isn't up to the job and I don't want to wear a headset. So I am looking for a small wired/cabled speaker. I don't want to connect anything else to it, what are people's recommendations for a good quality solution?

seemed to like the Bose Soundlink Mini (other speakers were mentioned favourably) which has a built in microphone if your main requirement is calls.

Jabra would be my choice too - I use a speak 310 at home (a few years old) and it is way way better than using earbuds, a headset or the laptop speaker.

It is permanently plugged into my laptop and also connects to my phone over Bluetooth so I can make take calls easily on either device.

One of the few devices that I'd just go out and rebuy if it stopped working as I am so dependent on it and it just works.

Jabra 510 or 710, I had the former for ~7 years, bought the latter around a year ago as the 510 kept going walkies in the office.

Does the job, mute button and the mute indication lights are ideal for Teams calls.
