Presuming the fact its a Toyota it will be super reliable and uninspiring to drive.

CVT = Dull.
Hybrid + CVT = Even duller.
Prius + Hybrid + CVT = Even duller still.
People Carrier variant of a Prius + Hybrid + CVT = Coma inducing level of dullness.
Seriously, life is too short.
I've just got one on lease.
The drive is super smooth. You don't notice the ev/petrol swap. Engine noise is OK, and a lot less noisy generally than my old Skoda Yeti.
They aren't sporty cars, but they are a chilled drive when driven with that attitude, yet they keep up with traffic no problem. Not lethargic, but not sporty.
Fuel economy is 45mpg around town 30/40mph shortish runs.
The front and middle row of seats have decent room.
The rearmost two seats have less room and access is a bit limited as you slide/fold the outer middle row seat forward. More seats for kids than grown adults.
I'm 5'10 and can get in and fit with the middle row still having room, so would do for shorter journeys, but not luxurious.
The boot feels really thin and tinny when you shut it.
Saying this, if it was a full time 7 seater, you might be better off with a minivan purely for the easier access.
As an occasional 6/7 seater it's OK.
The competitors are the Kodiaq and Teracco, but leasing was about £50pm more expensive for those.
I would also say that Prius are targeted by catalytic converter thieves. Toyota sell a Catloc which is a sheet of metal bolted to shield that area, costs about £250 fitted, and is highly recommended.

Thank you for all the input. I know it wont be an inspiring car to drive but the other car is an Legacy GT so that covers that area.
TBH the wife couldnt care less about driving dynamics and shes going to be the one driving it. All she wants is loading ability, room for 3 child seats and reliability. and low tax. so it fits the bill for her.

How many full child seats and how many boosters?
The Prius+ middle row has the outer two seats as isofix, so only a booster would fit the middle seat.
Back row, I'm not sure if they're isofix, but access putting a kid in a seat would need to be checked. Depends if the seat is in there permanently or removed regularly.

Hi thanks again for this cootuk. All three are isofix. all under the age of 5. I looked at one in the garage this morning (albeit a 2013 model) and the seats fitted JUST. I like the newer model and apparently they have the Li battery instead of the old one with the Nicad. The garage also has a fully loaded 2017 model with 60k on the clock but the 17 rims mean she goes from A rated to B in terms of efficiency. which is weird. anyway she has a pano roof and leather/alcantara. there is a button that says GPS/Maps but there are no maps installed. I wonder could i retro fit those if i bought it??

There's also the foot parking brake. Easy to get used to, but some people don't like it.

Exactly this - I've just bought an 09 Prius and it is booooring, which is exactly how I want it to be. However, it goes from A to B very cheaply, it has marks on it from 120k of life so i'm not bothered about a few more, it's comfortable and it's nondescript. The VX220 can deliver me whatever driving thrills a 47 year old needs.Fairly moot point though.
