Mail on mac / Office 365 MFA

I'm really struggling with this one.

I recently enabled MFA on my Office365 sub which is great, works fine on everything except for Mail on my mac. It shows me the account is offline, I try to take it online, enter my password at which point I just get "Unable to verify account name or password", probably due to it being unable to show the 2nd MFA window.

I don't suppose anyone has a fix for this? I've tried a bit of googling and results seem to be either "it just started working" or "I can't fix this". I know Microsoft and Apple aren't exactly the best of friends but you'd think there must be a way to get this to work? I'm fully up to date on my mac so have ruled out any pending updates etc.

I had this recently and I think I fixed it by deleting the account in Mac Mail and instead adding it as an ‘Internet Account’ in preferences and then enabling the Mail option slider. Hope that makes sense.

Interesting, I shall give that a go.

Removed and re-add the account, your account has a new auth method and will need to be resub'd to get working again.

Thanks for the replies, I ended up removing and re-adding the account which fixed the problem.
