Evening all, I wasn’t sure which sub section to add this so please feel free to move if needed mods.

So I have recently bought my first proper bike (09 Ninja zx6r) and overall it’s in good condition for an 11 year old bike. What does bother me though is what appears to be watermarks on anything ‘black’ with that be the metal levers, plastic fairings and even the gold forks.

I have tried white vinegar, silicone spray...etc with no real joy. See the following...

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

That middle picture looks like someone used undiluted TFR on it. That’s actually paint damage if that’s the case.
I did the same to a car years ago, it looked like paint runs, or water runs under the lacquer.

Sorry. frown

PS I could be wrong.

I agree it could be where TFR has been left on, good news is that it’s not actually painted as such and is a matte plastic panel. So I hope something can be done.

Cover it all with undiluted TFR so the finish is uniform.....

I would agree, that’s etching from strong cleaning solution probably being left on too long.

A cheap car wash done the same thing with my mates bike, cost him £600 to get it fixed as he had to buy new parts.

Tried everything to get it off, nothing would work.

Hope you get on better...

Apologies for the no doubt daft question, but I'm new in this forum...what's TFR?

TIA. HAND.
