Nigel cant see from your photo but the bit I mean fits under the front spoiler and is only a couple of inchs deep If fitted it can be seen in front of the wheels

Interesting point. Series 1 door handles as well. Does it have an A-frame chassis?
Be carefull about fitting TVR spiders. Wedge PCD is 112 and Cerb is 114.3 so across studs dig approx 2mm diff, they fit because the difference is catered for by the tolerance. Will fit half an inch further into the wheel arches which could be reduced by the use of 5mm wheel spacers. Also remember that:

Firstly they are NOT Cerb wheels. and to get them to fit I have had to have the shoulder on the hub machined to reduce the depth slightly the width has remained the same they fit snug onto the hub and locate correctly, no spacers required. They have been on for the last 600 miles and have not proved to be a problem. You lot have got me worried now but I really dont want to put the Bobarts back on it. Why do you think they are not safe ?????
Cerb/Tuscan/T-chassis cars use the old 4.5" PCD and so will put a bending moment on wedge studs and a high stress point between the wheel and the nut, even with the wheel seating onto the hub OK. Of couse if they're not TVR wheels it doesn't matter, just as long as it's a 112mm PCD etc.

I think you'll get a shaky feeling before anything falls off, and then likely only one at a time.
It's a dodgy business. Although a sudden failure is possible I guess that much more likely is that the studs would fail one at a time (and the nut would then fall off onto the road) or the wheel would develop cracks around the nuts so that you would be able to see signs before failure.
My 89 350 doesn't appear to have a "thingy" under the spoiler...
don't worry if your car is an 1.5, 1.75 or whatever...mine has a 390 front spoiler and rear wing, 400 style rear wheel arches, and 390 style bonnet vents all added during a previous ownership....so not sure what mine would be...(a mongrel or something) don't think it matters as long as you like it...
