Will actionfraud trace scammers address?

t from facebook has taken my dosh via PayPal and not sent the goods (£100, for a minor hobby). And now blocked me. I know his name and town, but not actual address.
So I’m going to report via actionfraud website as online fraud etc but I’m wondering is / do / can / will they search for someone using provided details? Or is it a waste of time? Ie as I can’t provide address they (will say) can’t do anything.
I actually know the likely road he lives on cos having now googled his name + town, he’s got form for assault and criminal damage I think it was.

ttface is full of knuckle dragging bottom feeders who have such big egos they actually believe that people really want to see a picture of what they had for breakfast.
Remember ttface only exist to make Marc Zuggywhatsit rich, it's not there for your benefit.
I know this doesn't help the OP but hopefully it will stop other people getting into the same mess!!

True. Unfortunately in specialist hobby groups one rightly or wrongly (as it turns out) assumes the other people aren’t ripp off merchants.
Stupidly (lesson learned) I paid by paypal friends & family (no fees) which has no buyer protection.
I know I won’t get it back but I’d like to get a CCJ on his record at least.

Doubt they would do anything.
A lot of the time they use different addresses, empty houses etc so they cant be traced. The money is long gone in seconds. And if its a goods transaction, they disappear the goods or dont bother to collect as they are doing a chargeback fraud.
We had something similar in my work. The guy was some well known criminal scum bag. Dead easy to verify it was him and his address on google. Even used his home address, signed for goods in his name then charged back claiming never arrived. This is despite us having signature POD etc. Police weren't interested. If it wasnt for him being a long way away then I would have driven up and knocked on.

It's a total waste of time. The chances of them forwarding any fraud for investigation that involves less than £100k are vanishingly small. A complaint involving £100 would just be binned.

I had a similar situation a few years back.
Sky had e mailed me about an upgrade so I called them.. had to pay for an engineer visit which couldn't be added to the bill so laid via credit card.
Lo and behold I got a call a couple of days later from CC company asking if I'd ordered 6 pairs of sunglasses.
The criminal mastermind even had them delivered to his own address!.
Sky wanted to prosecute the employee but the Police weren't interested.. when I called them they simply said that as you've been refunded by your CC company they considered the matter closed.
In the end Sky sacked him but he probably got a job somewhere else doing the same thing.
The authorities simply don't care.
