Time machine backup using memory cards
Discussion
I am wondering whether it would work to buy a hub adaptor like this -
https://satechi.net/products/type-c-pro-hub-adapte...
Then use one of the memory cards as the macbooks main storage and use time machine to back up to the other memory card
Any reason why not?

No-one has ever touted memory cards as reliable long term storage medium?
I don’t need it for long term I’m not expecting to survive a nuclear attack here all I want to be able to do a basic backup for the next 12 months and as I needed a HDMI port I thought this might be a quick and easy solution. No-one has ever touted memory cards as reliable long term storage medium?

Anyway, your call.

12 months is long term & memory cards do not last forever with repeated read/writes. There's a reason you dump the data off them on to another storage medium.
Anyway, your call.
Absolutely. I’m willing to take that risk. What I am asking in the question is whether time machine can be set up to do it backing up one off oars device to another in effect. I know the risks of data security etc and don’t need to go down that route here. Anyway, your call.
