Need A Free C Code Profiler?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
After being pointed to Eclipse for Java development and being utterly astounded at the quality of the product, I'm now looking for some profiler tools for straight C Code, on both a Linux and Win32 platform.
IN particular we need to improve some of our dissectors written into Ethereal.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction.
many thanks

I guess it depends on the tools that you are using.
If you are producing COFF output, I'm pretty sure that the straight GNU compiler has a profiler that is built into the linker.
Google on "DJ Deloire" for windows executable.
Edited to add;
I believe it produces a map file that lists symbols and offsets for both .CSEG and .DSEG
