If masks become compulsory in public.
Discussion
Given the creeping nature of the regulations thus far enacted, I can see it entirely being feasible that such a decree will be in the pipeline.
In the event that it becomes law to wear a mask in public would you comply?
I wont be playing the silly mask games as Ive already refused to do so.

Yep, i'll be wearing one, just as i do now in shops.
I don't find it a problem at all tbh.
Not sure why people do.
It's a simple exercise to help slow down the virus spread.
Having said that, it will never happen.
Just off out now into the village for a coffee.
Have a great day spaffing yourself about masks!

I have been wearing masks since lockdown at work and when i go shopping and will continue to do so until told i'm safe.
You'll never be "safe", it's all just degrees of risk, and your risk now of catching Covid (given that the last I looked the ONS said 99.97% of the public don't have the virus) is very likely much lower than the risk you'd have caught flu last winter.Cant see the issue. genuine medical reasons aside.

I'm only going to places and wearing one where it's essential (ie food shopping). I choose not to go anywhere they are mandated such as museums or heritage sites.
I would not wear one outside (I can see why people choose to leave them on moving from shop to shop outside) in the open air.

Wearing a mask is a bit annoying but firmly in the box of 1st world problems... I suspect the more I wear one the more natural it will feel.
Don't do much shopping, so 20 minutes in the supermarket once a week is fine. We have to wear them in communal areas of the office, but I'm only in twice a week so again 2 minutes to make a coffee of nip for a piss it's no hardship.
Can't see a blanket order to wear in public. Perhaps busier areas but as I don't tend to go near London or any big city it's not going to be a problem for me
Seems like the whole mask issue is made worse by bellends who have nothing better to complain about and don't like being asked to do something.

Haha. Another mask thread. Brilliant.
Nope. I think my health would be far better getting decent fresh air into my lungs than stale, damp, potentially virus-laden air. Anyway, we're all probably more likely to be run over (1 in 647) or tripping/falling (1 in 127) than spreading a virus when outside.

We already have...
"You are also strongly encouraged to wear a face covering in other enclosed public spaces where social distancing may be difficult and where you come into contact with people you do not normally meet."
and
"Face coverings should be worn in indoor places not listed in section two where possible, especially if it is a place where you may come in to contact with people you do not usually meet."
Clarify what you mean by public? Crowded public areas or a deserted public beach?

Yes as it's not a massive inconvenience and I'm not a petulant child. In the event that it becomes law to wear a mask in public would you comply?

The best advice appears to be to avoid other people as much as possible, certainly keep distance, wear a mask to help limit any risks, and wash well as soon as possible after. So any public area is somewhere to avoid when possible, indoors or out. And when it is not, simply don the mask.
It is annoying to wear 1, and it is not natural, people hate changing habits. But it is not a real hardship. It is not the thin end of a wedge curtailing any rights. Have endured lots worse than that over the years.

If it does indeed become mandatory to wear one outside the home (and I reckon we will end up in such a situation) what will you do?In the event that it becomes law to wear a mask in public would you comply?

If a copper asks you to put one on are you going to go all ‘human rights’ on him before inevitably accepting the fine or even to risk arrest? (Can you even be arrested? I’ve no idea!). How many fines will it take for you to comply or are you simply never going to leave the house until it’s over?

Not a chance in hell I will wear one outside.
But as I’ve said, what will you do if it becomes mandatory? If approached by a policeman asking you to put one on, are you going to simply refuse and accept whatever punishment comes your way? Are you going to fake a medical condition?
How many fines are you prepared to accept? Or will you simply stay indoors?
I think b

Since youre 19 times less likely to get infected outdoors it makes a law requiring wearing a mask outside 19 times more f
king stupid and those wearing them 19 times dumber than they are right now.Masks in shops are already compulsory, Im not wearing them now, what makes you think id wear one outdoors just cos morons say I should?
Theres not enough plod to deal with all the lawbreaking thats about to occur so Im not particularly worried about being stopped and arrested for it.
None of this is about masks, its about being told to stand on one leg and rub your head just because youre told to.
Stuff that. Ho Hum.
