I've only gone and had my pods done!

A few months back I asked you learned lot for advice on whether or not to have the front light pods blended in on my 2000 4.5 LW Cerb (it was in anyway having a front-end respray on insurance due to a minor bump). Some of you said "go for it" and others said "don't bother".

I went for it and here are some pics of the results.

Nice one...looks much better IMHO. I went from the standard single lights to the same as you, and I think that the car looks much more 21st centuary...

Out of interest how do you blot out your number plate like that in photos?

I use photoshop, but any photo editing software should do the trick.

The way I do it is to click on the white background of the number plate with the colour setting tool and then simply paint over the letters with the same colour as the background plate. Make sense?

If you don't have Photoshop, then you can do it the same way using 'Paint' which you should have in XP.

gixxer1000, hope you don't mind me asking but do you know how much it would have cost to get done? I was thinking of having mine done, it looks so much better.

The car looks stunning, and the folk doing the conversion clearley did an excellent job of work, and the light output is no doubt far better ( if they are Gas discharge)

but (certainly not wishing to pi** on anyones bonfire)

I still prefer the "standard" (old) look of the twin singles, it matches far better with the cars lines.

Don`t much care for the "chav" l.e.d. rears that some choose either......but each to their own !!

I had mine done aswell, from single to blended, the rears were done at the same time. IMHO 110% better.

Mad mark, I don't have the full price as I was having other work done on insurance at the same time (new bonnet and front-end respray mainly). The cost of doing the fibreglass work to blend in the pods and all pre-paint preparation was £250 per side. So you would need to add the cost of painting on top, which I have no idea of.

Not sure mate. I've only ever managed about 170mph out of each (on a track of course), before bottling out!

I had them done at Liphook Coachworks in Hampshire. Excellent place with great service. They do lots of TVR work and have done pod blending many times, so you can be sure of an experienced team.

I go to Leven's, www.leventechnology.co.uk/ who are based in Basildon just off the A127. Very friendly people. They also supply you with a courtesy car free, whilst working on yours.
